I have had cellulite since I got my period, which is 11 years old. I was relatively thin as a kid, but still had curves. I remember spotting it on the back of my thighs at first, and as the years passed it migrated to my butt, inner thighs, and then one day…the front of my legs. I remember the moment-I was in a JCrew dressing room while visiting my sister in Connecticut. I couldn't believe my eyes and thought it must be the terrible lighting. But alas, I had cellulite on the front go my legs.
Trying everything I could get my hands on, I used every cream, lotion, potion, exercise but I never saw any results that lasted. I was so self conscious of my legs , that I stopped wearing anything above the knee.
One evening, 2 years ago, I was on the phone with my bff, Des, who is the guru for nutrition, functional medicine, and all things health related. She told me to try the Fascia Blaster
I quickly went online and checked it out. Ashley Black is the creator of the Fascia Blaster and according to her:
“ Fascia is the body’s connective tissue. It is a head to toe, inside to out, all-encompassing and interwoven system of fibrous connective tissue found throughout the body. Your fascia provides a framework that helps support and protect individual muscle groups, organs, and the entire body as a unit.
For those of you who are visual learners, you can imagine your skin is like the rind of an orange. So, if your skin is the outer layer of the orange peel, the thicker, white, fibrous layer that lies almost immediately beneath the peel would be your fascia. Just as that thicker layer completely surrounds the inside of the orange, the same holds true to your fascia. We all have a layer of fascia directly beneath the skin that completely envelopes the body, giving another protective barrier between the skin and the deeper soft tissue.”
Therefore, cellulite is a distortion of your connective tissue and using a tool like the Fascia Blaster helps with the appearance of cellulite, fat deposits, and also pain.
I ordered the blaster, watched many online tutorials, and read all the online literature. I was so excited to try to use it for the first time. Here are the steps I took, according to the instructions:
I took a hot bath to warm up my tissue. Very important to heat up via bath, shower, sauna, etc
After drying off, I applied an oil to my legs as you need to lube up for the blaster to glide. Trust me, if you don’t, it will be (even more) painful
I grabbed the blaster and started gliding back and forth for two minutes on each area I wanted to attack. Tip-play a few songs on your playlist to guide you on how long to stay to each area
After finishing each area, I then used the backside of the blaster in an upward motion to finish my session
After a few weeks of usage, I definitely saw results. My cellulite had diminished, as well as my fat pockets on the sided of my thighs.
In August 2018, I got pregnant, and I couldn't use the blaster, as it’s not recommended. I only used it a bit on my feet to help with the swelling. I had ballooned into an elephant and had so much water retention, I looked like I was going to explode. I also gained 15 kilos.
I started slowly blasting 2 months after I gave birth, but was looking for something more. If only someone could blast my whole body for me! Well, the answer to my prayers came in the form of my aesthetician. She recommended a massage called Body Fix.
I quickly made an appointment and started with this intense massage. I left with huge bruises and with an addiction to this! I literally heard the cellulite breaking up. Took me about 10 sessions to see significant improvement in my cellulite. And these people know what they are doing and that it all comes down to fascia. The massage uses manual techniques, as well as cupping and a took similar to the blaster.
I’m now on my third package of 6 treatments and will most lily need one more round.I have attacked the lower body, and will move to upper body as well. Pregnancy left me with cellulite on my arms as well.
If you have been struggling with cellulite like me, I encourage you with great love and respect to try the blaster, cupping, and manual massage, as I have found that this combination works best. Don’t waste your money on creams as they DO NOT WORK! Invest that money into tools and massage that will bring you results.
Lots of love,
